Gymnos in habitat

Gymnocalycium monvillei subsp. achirasense var. kainradliae G. Neuhuber

This variety was found by Andrea Kainradl and Gert Neuhuber in the province San Luis near Cln. Pringles in the south-eastern region of Sierra de San Luis in April 1988. Noticeable are the dark-green body colour and strong spination. Plants grow column-shaped in old age and catch the eye with their flowers ranging from white to pink.I found Notocactus submammulosus, Lobivia aurea, Gymnocalycium monvillei subsp. gertrudae and Gymnocalycium fischeri as companion plants.
